Artist Statement
I am a process-driven visual artist, and I love experimenting with different materials and techniques. My work is driven by environmental and atmospheric influences. The natural world is a constant source of comfort and inspiration to me, I never stop marveling at the magnificence of it all.
I use light, shadow, and color to create mood and atmosphere in my art. Often I explores contrasts, such as light and dark, smooth and textured, and surface and depth. Some of my favorite materials are watercolor paints, gouache, inks, and pencils and I enjoy working on wood and paper the most. My work is mostly abstract, though on occasion I stray into more representational territory.
